Children's Ministry

Children’s ministry is where kiddos start their Bible education at Living Word.  Parents, we want to partner with you in your child’s spiritual development. We have something for kids of all ages with teaching, creativity, music, and fun! Safety is our priority with your kids.  In our children’s programs, we utilize volunteers from our congregation to teach, guide, and care for our little ones.  Our volunteers provide a safe, fun environment where your child knows they are loved, and you know they are well cared for.

Register and check your child in using the Church Center App. Download the app and create a free account here. There are no fees for registration, and you don’t need to be a member to attend any children’s ministry programs.

Spark (Sunday School)

Guiding kids as they grow in their faith through age-appropriate classes where they worship, learn, and play, Spark takes place Sunday mornings from 9:15 AM-10:15 AM during the school year for ages PreK-6th grade.

Our 3-Year-Old program meets twice of the month. Through worship music, crafts, and fun activities, hand-in-hand with mom and dad, your little one will learn about Jesus through Bible stories, build friendships with other kids, and learn to live for Jesus and honor Him. Due to the tender age of a 3-year-old and the likelihood of separation anxiety, we find it beneficial for parents to attend and engage with the child together through songs, crafts, and Bible stories.

Kindle (After School)

Kindle is our after-school program for children ages Kindergarten through 6th grade and takes place on Wednesdays during the school year from 2:30 PM-5:00 PM. You don’t need to be a member of Living Word to attend and friends are always welcome to join! Here’s what you’ll encounter at Kindle:

  • A fun and safe environment
  • A yummy snack
  • A quiet time for homework or reading
  • A recreational time for games
  • A Bible lesson
  • A place where kids can build friendships

We use the Deep Blue Rotational curriculum with our children. This curriculum uses Bible stories to teach little ones about God’s love through creative storytelling, energetic music, and small group activities.

Classroom teachers are made up of parent and congregational volunteers who have a passion for teaching and love to share God’s Word.

We begin in the Youth Room for Opening Worship time. This is a time where your children will learn new songs and actions about Jesus and His love for us. After Opening Worship, kids are dismissed to their classrooms with their teachers. You can drop your child off at the check-in area, near the entrance to the education wing, at 9:15am.

Classes are divided by school age.

No, you and your family do not need to be members to join our children’s ministry Bible education classes. All are welcome!

Yes, your child can bring a friend anytime.

Classes are finished at 10:15am. You can pick your children up at the check in station.

All of our volunteers have gone through a background check. Our check in system ensures that all students leave with their trusted adult.

Safety is our priority with your kids. In our children’s programs, we utilize volunteers from our congregation to teach, guide, and care for our little ones. Our volunteers provide a safe, fun environment where your child knows they are loved, and you know they are well cared for.

We are using the Church Center App software to make Bible Ed safer than ever.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Every summer, usually at the beginning of June, dozens of volunteers come together to put forth an amazing Bible educational experience for children! Bible stories are explored through theatrical elements, crafts, games, snacks, and more. All children 4 years old-6th Grade are welcome to attend! 3-year-olds are welcome to attend when accompanied by an adult. More Information & Registration can be found by clicking here.
