You are welcome here!

Whether you’re new in Marshall, just visiting for the day, or looking for a new church home, we’re glad you’re considering a visit to Living Word Lutheran Church.  Pastor Dave says it best, “We’re not the only gig in town,” but we’d love to have you worship with us.  If there is anything you need from us, please let us know.

Visitor Center and
Information Center
When you arrive, be sure to stop by our Visitor Center just outside the sanctuary to learn about Living Word and our Information Center outside the church office to find out what’s happening around our church.

Service Times
We have two identical services on Sunday morning at 8:00am and 10:30am.  Occasionally there may be a special event planned at one service such as a baptism or Sunday School kids singing.  Other special services are held during the Lenten and Advent seasons.
We love kids at Living Word!
Children are always welcome to stay with you during the service.  There are busy-bags available near the kitchenette if your little ones need something to focus on.  If you do prefer to step out of the service with your kids, we have a nursery available down the hall.  Nursery volunteers will care for them if you’d like to return to the sanctuary, or you can watch the sermon via livestream on the screen provided in the nursery.

Worship Service
Most weeks, our worship music is led by the praise band in the front of the sanctuary.   The music is a mix of mostly contemporary songs and some traditional hymns.  Occasionally we have special music by other talented individuals.  Song lyrics are displayed on overhead screens.
Worship services also have prayer, a Bible based message from the Pastor, worship through tithes and offering, communion, and a final sending song where kids are encouraged to come forward during the last worship song to wave colorful flags as we close out the service.
Communion
We offer communion most weeks, usually at both services, to anyone who acknowledges being a sinner in need of a Savior and believes that Christ is that Savior who died on the cross for their sins.  We believe in the true presence of Christ in communion, following His words spoken at the Last Supper, “This is My body given for you…this is My blood shed for you…” Luke 22:19-20.  Bread and wine are served at the altar and ushers will dismiss and direct the rows.  Gluten free and grape juice options are available.

Offering
After the sermon, those that consider Living Word their church home are given an opportunity to worship the Lord with our tithes and offering.  Offering can be given during the service in the baskets passed, or given online through our secure giving.  Guests are welcome to participate in offering but your presence with us is offering enough.

Between Services
Coffee fellowship is served at 9:15 through the kitchenette window inside the sanctuary.  Bible education for all ages begins at 9:15am.  Youth education breaks during the summer months.

Atmosphere
We have a casual family atmosphere at Living Word.  We are imperfect people serving a perfect God.  You will find our congregation to be warm and friendly, and you will fit right in whether you dress in your Sunday best or if you prefer jeans and a tee shirt.  Feel free to bring your coffee to the service and snacks for your kids.  Bibles are available under the seats for your use, or if you prefer the mobile version on your phone our WiFi password is graceful.
Building
Living Word has on-site parking with driveway entrances from both Hwy 23 and East Southview Court.  The sanctuary, church office and coffee kitchenette are on the main level of the building.  There are bathrooms on the main level just inside the entrance and near the Sunday School rooms.   The building is handicapped accessible with an elevator.  The lower level of the building is home to the large kitchen, dining area, Ignite youth room and additional bathrooms.
Beyond Sunday Morning
Sunday morning is just the beginning.  We offer ministry and events for everyone.  Whether you are looking for individual discipleship, small group study or family opportunities, we have something for all interests and all ages.  Check out our Ministries tab and follow our Calendar under the More tab to find the right fellowship for you.
We hope to see you soon!
