In Case You Missed It…

  • Surviving the Holidays GriefShare Seminar – This nondenominational seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death.  It will be presented on Monday, November 18: 3:00-4:30 pm at Boulder Estates and 6:30-8:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Church.
  • Christmas Devotional Booklets – FREE!  The carol “Joy to the World” is based on Psalm 98, which highlights how we should praise God for what He has done – especially for sending Jesus to the world as a baby so long ago.  We invite you to read the ten reflections together as a family this Advent season to help you see why Jesus is worth celebrating. One booklet per household, available at the name tag and resource tables.
  • We are looking for piano students (grades K–6) to share Christmas piano solos for prelude of our 10:30 Family Christmas Service.  Please contact the church office if your child has a song to share.

  • Women’s Rural Advocacy Program (WRAP) is a domestic abuse program serving Lyon and surrounding counties. WRAP is looking for individuals or families that are willing to sponsor a family for Christmas. As a sponsor, you would be provided a list of the ages and interests of the individuals in the family or you could sponsor a Christmas meal, with gift cards to local grocery stores, that can be given to the family to purchase a special meal. WRAP will coordinate delivery to the families. Contact WRAP at 507-532-9532 to be a sponsor or for more information.

Advent Season

Beginning Sunday, December 1st

The word ‘Advent’ comes from Latin and means “coming.” The  purpose of the Advent season is to look forward to the coming of Christ to Earth.  Advent is a season that focuses on waiting.

Through prayer, we can ask God to prepare our hearts the way He prepared all of history to receive the gift of His Son. Ask the Father to use this time during Advent to remove distractions and help each of us make this holiday season an offering of praise to Him.
