“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God. It is he who made us and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100
On the 20th, we welcomed the Good News Guys for a concert at our church. I had the privilege of spending the day with them. Both of the Guys shared that they hadn’t seen this ministry as their plan, but God did! They are so passionate about creating meaningful, fun, kid-friendly music!
The entire purpose of their ministry is to bring a joyful noise to the Lord. Multiple times during the concert, they made the point that this concert is not about Jordan and Vinnie (The Guys), but this is all about Jesus! The psalmist encourages us to bring a joyful noise to the Lord! And let me tell you, there was a LOUD joyful noise in the Sanctuary that afternoon. It was an absolute blessing to be a part of a group all singing praise to the Lord.
I hear it from my older kids in Children’s Ministry – “But I’m not a good singer!” To which I always say, “It doesn’t matter what you think about your voice. The Lord created it and LOVES to hear it!” No matter if you’re a “good singer” or a “bad singer,” the Lord loves to hear you praise him. He longs for it. Make a joyful noise today!
